A night at the Rosewood Munich

If Munich has long been a city of understated charm, Rosewood Munich elevates it to new heights. The newly opened property, which is Rosewood’s first in Germany, brings timeless sophistication to the heart of the old town. With its heritage façades, curated interiors, and a sense of calm that’s distinctly Rosewood, this hotel is redefining what contemporary luxury means in the city.

Arrival from Berlin

After a four-hour train ride from Berlin, I arrived in Munich to a golden afternoon and checked into what is, without question, the city’s most exquisite new address: Rosewood Munich.

Set in the heart of Munich’s historic old town, the property is a study in understated grandeur. Once two heritage buildings: the former State Bank of Bavaria and the adjacent Palais Neuhaus Preysing, the hotel blends old-world architecture with contemporary refinement. The moment you step through the doors, the atmosphere shifts: warm lighting, quiet luxury, and that signature Rosewood scent that instantly feels like home.

Suite 513

We were graciously upgraded to Suite 513, perched on the fifth floor.

The layout unfolded elegantly: a small entrance hallway leading to a spacious living room, a serene bedroom, a generous dressing room, and a marble-clad bathroom that can only be described as cinematic.

Awaiting us was a thoughtful welcome gesture: a bowl of fresh fruit, a chilled bottle of Sekt, and a handwritten note. After hours on the train, we gave in to the simple pleasure of ordering room service fries.

Breakfast & Morning Light

The bed was a dream , the kind that seems to cocoon you entirely, equal parts cloud and luxury. Morning came slowly, with sunlight filtering through the curtains, followed by what can only be described as an epicurean breakfast.

Served à la carte, the offerings were both refined and indulgent, from freshly baked pastries to perfectly poached eggs.

The Asaya Spa

Before departure, I visited the Asaya Spa, a sanctuary sprawling beneath the city streets.

It’s the largest urban hotel spa I’ve ever seen: tranquil, meticulously designed, and utterly transportive. A world away from the bustle above.

Final Thoughts

For a brief 24 hours, the Rosewood Munich offered the kind of escape that lingers long after checkout. A rare blend of heritage, elegance, and serenity that defines true modern luxury.
